New Wayne County WWTP MBR scheduled to go online in February 2010
Jan. 15, 2010

The latest Enviroquip MBR System is nearing completion in Wooster, OH. The Eastwood WWTP plant is designed to treat an average daily flow of 160,000 gallons per day. Although this plant will have the same capacity requirements as the existing facility it is replacing, it will occupy about one quarter the footprint, allowing the old plant to be demolished and the land made available for other uses. The small footprint and its associated reduced carbon signature was one of the main drivers for the selection of MBR technology. Another inherent benefit will be much improved water quality and nutrient removal, placing the plant in an excellent position to meet future discharge limits in the present. The old plant simply was not going to meet permit requirements. This project was largely funded via ARRA stimulus money, saving the county a great deal of money.
